MCLAUGHLAN TRANSPORT ADDS ANOTHER DAF TO ITS FLEET

Perth based reefer haulage specialist McLaughlan Transport Ltd has added another DAF XF105 to its 37 strong fleet.

An initial batch of three covered some 600,000 kilometres and delivered 10% better kilometres per litre than the fleet average.

The latest arrival is a 6x2 mid-lift axle FTG model, which will run with a triaxle Gray & Adams refrigerated trailer taking fresh produce from Scotland around Europe. The new DAF is expected to cover around 180,000 kilometres a year.

McLaughlans have opted for the 460bhp rating on the 12.9 litre MX engine. At 44 tonnes GVW this gives a power to weight ratio of 10.45bhpl tonne. The engine is matched to a 12 speed AS-tronic automated gearbox. Supplied by Lothian DAF
